Privacy statement

In short: Flit has no accounts, no cookies, no trackers and no analytics. Your location is used only on your own device, and only when you ask for it. When you open a company’s website from Flit, we count that anonymously.
1. Who we are

2. What we process
Your location — only on your device, only when you ask
If you sort by Distance or tap the location button, your browser asks whether Flit may use your location. If you allow it, the position is used inside your browser to show distances and your dot on the map. It is never sent to us or to anyone else, and it is not stored.
An anonymous count of which company website is opened
When you tap a company’s website or Book button, your browser sends one count to our counter server. It contains only: the company (for example “bike-macbike” or “cruise-lovers”), the link type (“link”), the platform (Android, iOS or other, read from your browser), the language of the page (EN or NL) and the version of the site. It contains no identifier, no cookie, no location and no browsing history, and we cannot tell who you are from it. We use the totals to see which listings are useful and to keep the comparison complete.
Server logs kept by the hosts
Like every website, the servers that deliver these pages (Netlify) and the counter server (Render) receive your IP address, the time, the address requested and your browser’s user agent with each request. The hosts keep these logs for up to 30 days for security and operation. We do not combine them with anything and do not use them to identify visitors.
Map tiles
The map images come from CARTO (and, if CARTO is unavailable, from the OpenStreetMap servers). To deliver them, those servers see your IP address and which part of the map you are looking at.
Preferences on your device
Your choices — language, bike type, days, party size, sort order, list or map — are remembered in your browser’s local storage so the page opens the way you left it. They never leave your device and you can remove them by clearing this site’s data in your browser. This storage is strictly necessary for the function you use; it is not a cookie and not tracking.
Links you choose to open
Company websites and Directions (Google Maps) open in a new tab only when you tap them. Once you are there, that company’s or Google’s own privacy statement applies.
3. Why, and the legal basis
- Your location: processed because you ask for distances (your request; GDPR art. 6(1)(b)), and only on your device.
- The anonymous count: our legitimate interest in knowing which listings are used, so the comparison stays useful and complete (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)). It is designed to need no personal data; the IP address that reaches the server with any request is covered by the next point.
- Server logs: our and our hosts’ legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).
- Map tiles: our legitimate interest in showing a map, which you asked to see (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).
You can object to processing based on legitimate interest at any time: write to [email].

We do not sell or share data with anyone else, and nobody pays Flit for anything.
5. Cookies and trackers
Flit uses no cookies, no third-party trackers, no analytics scripts, no advertising and no social-media plugins. The font is served from this site itself.
6. How long
Location: not stored. Count records: they hold no personal data and are kept as totals for as long as they are useful. Server logs: up to 30 days at the hosts. Preferences: on your device until you clear them.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify or erase personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Because Flit stores no identifier, we usually cannot find data that relates to you, but write to [email] and we will help as far as we can, within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
8. Changes
If what Flit processes changes, this statement changes first, with a new date at the top.

2. Wat we verwerken
Je locatie — alleen op je apparaat, alleen als je erom vraagt
Sorteer je op Afstand of tik je op de locatieknop, dan vraagt je browser of Flit je locatie mag gebruiken. Sta je dat toe, dan wordt de positie in je browser gebruikt om afstanden en je stip op de kaart te tonen. Hij wordt nooit naar ons of iemand anders gestuurd en niet opgeslagen.
Een anonieme telling van welke bedrijfswebsite wordt geopend
Tik je op de website- of Boeken-knop van een bedrijf, dan stuurt je browser één telling naar onze tellerserver. Daarin staat alleen: het bedrijf (bijvoorbeeld “bike-macbike” of “cruise-lovers”), het type link (“link”), het platform (Android, iOS of anders, afgeleid uit je browser), de taal van de pagina (EN of NL) en de versie van de site. Er zit geen identificatie, cookie, locatie of surfgeschiedenis in en we kunnen er niet uit afleiden wie je bent. We gebruiken de totalen om te zien welke vermeldingen nuttig zijn en de vergelijking volledig te houden.
Serverlogs bij de hosts
Zoals bij elke website ontvangen de servers die deze pagina’s leveren (Netlify) en de tellerserver (Render) bij elk verzoek je IP-adres, het tijdstip, het opgevraagde adres en de user agent van je browser. De hosts bewaren deze logs maximaal 30 dagen voor beveiliging en beheer. Wij koppelen ze nergens aan en gebruiken ze niet om bezoekers te herkennen.
Kaarttegels
De kaartbeelden komen van CARTO (en, als CARTO niet beschikbaar is, van de servers van OpenStreetMap). Om ze te leveren zien die servers je IP-adres en welk deel van de kaart je bekijkt.
Voorkeuren op je apparaat
Je keuzes — taal, type fiets, dagen, gezelschap, sortering, lijst of kaart — worden onthouden in de lokale opslag van je browser, zodat de pagina opent zoals je hem verliet. Ze verlaten je apparaat nooit en je verwijdert ze door de sitegegevens in je browser te wissen. Deze opslag is strikt noodzakelijk voor de functie die je gebruikt; het is geen cookie en geen tracking.
Links die je zelf opent
Websites van bedrijven en Route (Google Maps) openen alleen in een nieuw tabblad als je erop tikt. Daar geldt de privacyverklaring van dat bedrijf of van Google.
3. Waarom, en de grondslag
- Je locatie: verwerkt omdat je om afstanden vraagt (jouw verzoek; AVG art. 6 lid 1 sub b), en alleen op je apparaat.
- De anonieme telling: ons gerechtvaardigd belang om te weten welke vermeldingen worden gebruikt, zodat de vergelijking nuttig en volledig blijft (AVG art. 6 lid 1 sub f). Ze is zo ontworpen dat er geen persoonsgegevens nodig zijn; het IP-adres dat bij elk verzoek de server bereikt valt onder het volgende punt.
- Serverlogs: ons gerechtvaardigd belang en dat van onze hosts bij een veilige, werkende website (AVG art. 6 lid 1 sub f).
- Kaarttegels: ons gerechtvaardigd belang om de kaart te tonen die je wilt zien (AVG art. 6 lid 1 sub f).
Je kunt altijd bezwaar maken tegen verwerking op basis van gerechtvaardigd belang: schrijf naar [email].

We verkopen of delen geen gegevens met anderen, en niemand betaalt Flit ergens voor.
5. Cookies en trackers
Flit gebruikt geen cookies, geen trackers van derden, geen analytics, geen advertenties en geen social-mediaplugins. Het lettertype komt van deze site zelf.
6. Hoe lang
Locatie: niet opgeslagen. Tellingen: bevatten geen persoonsgegevens en blijven als totalen bewaard zolang ze nuttig zijn. Serverlogs: maximaal 30 dagen bij de hosts. Voorkeuren: op je apparaat tot je ze wist.
7. Je rechten
Je hebt recht op inzage, rectificatie en wissing, op beperking van en bezwaar tegen de verwerking, en op overdraagbaarheid. Omdat Flit geen identificatie opslaat, kunnen we meestal geen gegevens vinden die over jou gaan, maar schrijf naar [email] en we helpen je binnen een maand zo goed als we kunnen. Je kunt ook een klacht indienen bij de Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
8. Wijzigingen
Verandert wat Flit verwerkt, dan verandert eerst deze verklaring, met een nieuwe datum bovenaan.
